Commercial Properties

A commercial claim is a loss that is sustained by a commercial building that is used for commercial use. Types can be included for example are office buildings, factories, warehouses, restaurants, hospitals or retail convenience stores, ‘big box’ stores, shopping malls in residential locations, a commercial building often combines functions, such as an office on levels 2-10, with retail on the bottom floor.

Many times this commercial space is owned by one owner who leases space in the building to other commercial businesses. Other times it can be each owner owning his own space and sharing the common walls of the building with others.

In any case this type of claim is one that usually directly affects one’s workplace and livelihood.
Unfortunately, most renters or commercial property owners are not familiar with their insurance policies and find themselves at a loss as to who is responsible for what.
